GED Test Passing Score Requirements
ACE's Commission on Adult Learning and Educational Credentials sets the minimum requirements for issuing a GED credential. A standard score of 410 on each test and an average score of 450 for the five-test battery is the minimum passing standard.
Current Requirements for Issuing Virginia GED Certificates
Register by completing the GED application for testing at the local school division in which you live and pay the appropriate testing fee(s). There is a $35.00 fee required to take the entire battery of five tests and a $7.00 fee for each individual test
Receive a standard score battery average of 450 (total score of 2,250) or higher with no individual test score below 410 to qualify for a Virginia GED Certificate

Part I 25 questions with optional use of a calculator, which is provided 45 minutes
Mathematics, Part II 25 questions without a calculator 45 minutes
Except for Part II of the Language Arts, Writing Test, which requires an essay, and the Mathematics Test, which requires the use of a grid for some answers, questions are provided in multiple-choice format. Each multiple-choice question lists five possible answer choices; you must select the best answer.
